How do I get to Sumba?
You can fly to Lede Kalumbang Airport in Tambolaka (TMC) from major Indonesian cities such as Bali and Surabaya. Domestic flight tickets can be purchased on www.tiket.com. Cap Karoso is about a 50-minute drive from the airport, and we provide transportation for our guests.

What activities are available at Cap Karoso?
Cap Karoso is perfect for guests seeking both adventure and relaxation. Activities include surfing, snorkeling, hiking, horse riding, cultural excursions, and wellness retreats. What is the climate like in Sumba?
Sumba is one of Indonesia’s sunniest islands.

- Warmer Months: October to May (avg. 33°C high / 24°C low)
- Cooler Months: June to August (avg. 30°C high / 20°C low)

Are there any health or safety considerations?
Sumba is a remote area where malaria still exists, especially inland. At Cap Karoso, we follow strict mosquito control protocols: fogging, eliminating stagnant water, and planting mosquito-repellent grasses. We provide repellent in all rooms and monitor staff health closely.
Although the malaria risk within the resort is very low, please consult your doctor about anti-malarial precautions before your trip. Travel insurance is also highly recommended.

Is emergency healthcare available?
Yes. We partner with SOS International, global leaders in remote healthcare. A trained medic is based on-site 24/7, and we have an on-site clinic and pharmacy. In case of emergencies, SOS can coordinate immediate evacuation and hospitalization at international-standard facilities.

What is the food like at Cap Karoso?
At Cap Karoso, we serve a refined blend of Mediterranean and Indonesian cuisines. Our culinary philosophy is rooted in the farm-to-table concept, with many ingredients sourced directly from our own permaculture farm near the resort. Everything is made in-house — from our pastries, breads, and pasta to our pizza dough and ice creams.

Can Cap Karoso cater to special diets?
Yes, our culinary team accommodates special diets, including vegan, vegetarian, halal, gluten-free, and more. We take food allergies seriously and are trained to avoid cross-contamination. However, as Sumba is remote, specific ingredients may not always be available.

Are there shops and restaurants nearby?
The area around Cap Karoso is beautifully wild and untouched. There are no commercial establishments nearby—perfect for disconnecting. For essential items, our Guest Relations team will be happy to assist.
